Its been a week of 2 halves Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday was very hard due to 29-30degree temperatures and the fish being very deep.
All change in Friday afternoon as the fish switched on and anglers on a sinking or intermediate line started catching in good numbers.
75 anglers fished over the weekend catching 388 fish giving a rod average of 5.1
Top rods were
Ken Glenton from Ashington 16fish using a cats whisker
Ali Tait from Morpeth fished Saturday and Sunday returning 35 fish using Buzzers
Joh Piper from Morpeth caught 20 on various Lures
John Cowell from Bedlington 8 fish with buzzers and lures
Darren Frame and Eric Carmichael had 27 between them using hoppers and Kate McLarens.
J Armstrong from Morpeth 16 fish with a hot head cats whisker
Jimmy Drew 16 fish using a Dawson Olive
Dave Ord from Morpeth 9 fish on a Cut Throat Cat
William Tate (pictured) had a battle to land this 4lb rainbow with a little help from dad Andrew.
Scottish Power fished a friendly competition on Friday with Top Rod being awarded to Stef Gregbowski 4 fish for 16.9lb. Well Done.
The Eddie Brown Winter Series will be our winter competition this year fished over 4 heats and the final being held 22nd December. Bookings now being taken.
